Double Glazing & Conservatories in Brixham
Brixham's working harbour, steep streets and colourful cottages make it one of the most characterful places we fit windows and doors in Torbay.
Windows, doors & conservatories in Brixham
Much of old Brixham climbs steeply up from the harbour. Fishermen's cottages and terraces sit on narrow lanes above Fore Street and the quay, often with small windows, low doorways and limited access for vans. Higher up, areas such as Furzeham and Higher Brixham are made up of bungalows and family homes, and towards Churston and Galmpton you'll find larger detached houses with bigger gardens.
Access is the first thing we think about here. Our surveyor checks parking, steps and how frames will be carried in before fitting day, so there are no surprises and the job runs smoothly. On some of the tightest lanes, that planning makes all the difference.
For the older cottages, flush casement or sash-style uPVC windows keep a traditional look while dealing with draughts and condensation. Cream, white or woodgrain finishes tend to suit the painted render you see around the harbour. Many houses also benefit from a new composite front door — strong, weather-resistant and available in heritage colours that look right on a seaside street. See our doors range.
Homes on the exposed headlands catch the full force of the wind off Tor Bay and the Channel. Good seals, strong shootbolt locking and A-rated glass help keep these houses warm and quiet. Where existing frames are sound but the glass has misted, replacement glass units can be a sensible, cost-effective upgrade.
If you're in one of the bungalows or detached homes further from the harbour, a porch or conservatory can add useful space — somewhere to leave wet coats after a walk on Berry Head, or a bright room to enjoy the garden.
Every installation comes with our 10-year insurance-backed guarantee. Please note: we specialise in new installations and replacements. We do not carry out repairs.
